Mark Irvine of Tyrrells has impressed the socks off of me. We have just recently purchase a house up in Warriewood in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Mark conducted the initial inspection and told us that there was a potential issue with damp and termites but that he was unable to gain access to the sub floor of the house. After a talking to the real estate agent they discovered a 'manhole' in the floorboards and Mark dutifully went back. He then told us that the underneath of the house was seriously damp and went through all the options with me as to how to deal with it. However, he could only see a quarter of the area and couldn't be 100% certain there wasn't more serious problems elsewhere e.g. termites. After another discussion with the agent another manhole was discovered in the floorboards. We are now up to 4pm and Mark is about to clock off and go on holiday for five weeks. I rang him again, maybe i shouldn't have but I did, and asked if there was someone else in the office who could 'look into it' for us. So despite having one foot metaphorically out of the door he went back for a third time. When he rang back he was happy to report no serious concerns. He didn't have to go back once let alone twice and I doubt if many of us his situation would have done. The guy is a true professional, a credit to his employer and proof that you can get great service if you get the right people. I won't give you his direct number as I'm not sure he'd appreciate it but if you ring Tyrrells [1300 131 270] ask for Mark Irvine I doubt if he'd object and maybe they'd realise what a great asset he is and give him a pay rise.
